100W/m2 Heating Mats for Timber Sub-Floors

Under floor heating the ultimate in luxury for the modern bathroom....

These heating mats are ideal for refurbishment projects in existing dwellings or in new-build extension projects. They can be installed on top of suspended timber floors. The exceptionally small profile of the heating cable makes these heating mats ideally suited to installation within the adhesive layer - the method preferred by professional floor tillers when laying ceramic tiles. There is no need to remove existing tiles - you can install this ultra thin heating mat directly on top of the existing tiles and then tile over them as normal.

Installation - The heating mats have self-adhesive tapes to stick them to the floor during installation. Just roll out the mat and remove the wax backing tape as you go to hold the mat in place. When you get to a wall, just cut across the mesh (but not the heating cable) using scissors and then turn the mat. Continue like this until you have finished. You don’t have a return cable to worry about because the cable has only one cold tail.

Installation into wet areas - These heating mats and cables have an earthed metallic sheath beneath their outer jacket. They fully comply with the requirements of Section 601-09-04 of IEE wiring regulations BS 7671:2007 so may be embedded in the floor of the bathroom or shower room.

A thermostatic controller will be needed to control the under floor heating - sold separately.
