Bathroom Accessories Can Change The Face Of Your Bathroom

Bathroom Accessories Can Change The Face Of Your Bathroom - Accessories

If you’re planning a new bathroom it is necessary to plan what goes in it and where, whilst this sounds very simple in practice it can be problematical. It’s not rocket science to work out where the bath tub, sink, toilet and bidet are going but don’t forget the other accessories that can go in the modern bathroom.

Have you got room for a heated towel rack in your plans? Do you require a freestanding unit to hold the towels? Where are you going to put your bath robes? Do you need extra heating?

Some people like to have a table next to the bath to use for glasses of wine, books glasses and candles have you accounted for the extra space required in your plans? Where are you going to store your soaps, shampoos, deodorants and other toiletries? Do you need a place to put a basket or several baskets? How much room do you need for a mirror?

If you take into consideration the bathroom accessories, the table, mirror, double sink, towel rack etc then you may need double the floor space of the basic necessities in a bathroom. Most households keep their scales in the bathroom because most people prefer to weigh themselves without clothes, have you planned where your scales will go?

A bathroom with insufficient storage space can look extremely cluttered and that is the antithesis of the relaxed atmosphere you want to create. You need to have your toiletries close by the bath, rather than on a shelf at the other side of the bathroom. Everything you think you will need whilst in the bath should be within easy reaching distance, no one wants to get out of a hot bath and pad across the cold floor for the bath gel!

Towels do not have to be stored in a cupboard they can be displayed on an open rack where they become a design feature of the bathroom; they can contrast or complement the existing colour scheme.
Some bathroom items such as cleaning fluids and medicines will need to be kept in a secure place. Medicine cabinets or first aid kits usually require wall space and are normally kept above waist height or above the reach of young children.

If you plan to keep plants in the bathroom then they will no doubt all require their own space. Some bathroom plants such as the African violet are relatively small in stature but others such as the aspidistra can grow to 5 or 6 feet in height and because they can be heavy they would be better kept in a freestanding pot.

Before planning your bathroom think carefully what you want from a it and make sure you have enough space to make your dreams come true. There is little more frustrating than realising that you haven’t got room to place your favourite things.
