Here at Bathshop321 we know that you would like to ensure that you’re not stepping out of the tub and shivering in the cold. Bathrooms are a place to unwind and relax, but if you’re cold it can be an incredibly uncomfortable place to be. Here we will offer you a helping hand and look at ways in which you can create the perfect bathroom ambience, by generating heat and consequently the perfect place to enjoy bathing experiences.

Creating Warmth through Decor

Although bathroom décor doesn’t technically generate heat, warm tones can create a comfortable atmosphere. The simplest way to create warmth within your decor is to avoid using cool shades of colour on your walls. Blues and greens are commonly used to decorate bathroom interiors to connote tranquillity but they can also give a cool, icy impression. Instead select tones associated with warmth such as creams, subtle hints of orange and even earthy browns. Although this may not be physical warmth your mind will be left tricked into keeping the frosty feelings away.

Creating Actual Heat

More obvious ways of generating heat is through the use of radiators. These can prove unsightly however and can take up valuable space in a restricted room. Fan heaters are commonly used in bathrooms as they are very compact, and boast good air circulation as well as a fast heating up process. These too can look unattractive and require regular maintenance to ensure they work well.

A stylish alternative to the conventional radiator would be a heated towel rail, as not only are they practical, they can also provide an aesthetically eye catching feature when purchased in any of their varied but contemporary designs. Under floor heating is another way of introducing warmth into the room and the ideal way to ensure no space is hindered, not to mention they are perfect for keeping your toes toasty. Being able to adjust under floor heating to your desired temperature also ensures you can create the most comfortable environment for you. But the most important factor of under floor heating has to be that the shock of cold flooring underfoot after a bath or a shower is a thing of the past!

Preventing Heat from Escaping

So you’ve got your bathroom lovely and cosy, but how do you prevent that heat from escaping? Fabrics are a great way of trapping in heat and ensuring a cosy bathroom. Plush rugs are luxurious under foot for those who choose not to have under floor heating, and thick curtains reduce the likelihood of the warmth to be lessened by cool temperatures from outside. Candles are also a great way of generating small amounts of heat and influencing a more glamorous and indulgent bathroom.

Your choice of textures and materials can have the same effect too. Sleek white bathroom suites are a common choice to utilise but substituting contemporary furniture with more traditional alternatives such as those designed in wood can instantly change the dynamics of the room.

After considering the elements above, you should be well on your way to creating the ideal bathroom and warm space to indulge, just make sure you’re boiler’s working so you don’t have to take a cold bath or shower!
