Heated towel rail in the bathroom

Here at Bathshop321 we know that many of you dread getting out of your warm beds on a cold winters morning. Once you get into the shower or bath, it isn’t so bad, but dragging yourself out of your bedroom and into your bathroom can be excruciating, especially if there’s an icy cold bathroom awaiting your arrival. These top tips will be your escape from a frosty bathroom, into a warm winter wonderland.

Toasty Towels

Once you’ve got out of the shower or bath it would be nice to have something warm to wrap around you. Heated towel rails ensure that your towels are kept warm, ready for you to wrap around your body. But don’t start thinking they’re a one trick pony! They will also radiate heat throughout your bathroom, keeping you heated both before and after a shower. If you want to welcome a little Christmas cheer into your bathroom why not try hanging festive towels on the rail? Frosty blues, Robin breast reds and ivory greens will bring a little winter warmth into your bathroom.

Trick Yourself, It Isn’t Tricky.

Creating physical warmth isn’t always the priority when you want a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Tricking your mind into not feeling the full effect of the cold waiting outside is easily done with nothing more than a lick of paint and a brush.  A warm red or deep purple feature wall will not only add a little ‘zing’ to your space, it will also add the illusion of warmth, creating a festive and welcoming space. You can also leave your mind snug and cosy with a sophisticated, warm colour palette. Adding a little paint to one of you bathroom walls leaves you with the easy option of changing your bathroom back to its original style quickly and easily, you couldn’t ask for more!

Keeping the Cold Out

Quickly hold your hand near the edge of your window. Do you feel a cold draft? How about where the window sections cross over? Air will easily glide through the smallest gaps and you will need to make sure you have seamless caulking (around the edges) and good weather stripping (where the two pieces overlap each other). By applying some new silicon caulking around the window edges and replacing any worn or flattened weather stripping on your windows, you can wave a sweet good bye to the winter cold.

A Heated Floor is Not Only for Christmas

You don’t need to bring out the fluffy socks this winter, let your feet have a little space on a toasty bathroom floor. Heated flooring can be a real treat for your feet on a bitter winter’s morning. Although it may cost a little more than installing a heated towel rail or adding a coat of paint, it will definitely be worth every penny.  Take a look at some deals and pick the best for you, so that you will be kept safe from the icy temperatures lurking outside.

It’s going to be chilly this winter so get your bathroom ready. Soak in a warm bubble bath; sink your feet into some warm slippers and settle on the sofa with a glass of warm mulled wine. Yes, this sounds like heaven – but wait and see if the rest of the family realise the bathroom is your new place to relax, now that would be a festive miracle!
